Conservation District celebrates 2017 accomplishments

Knox — Waldo County Soil & Water Conservation District will hold its 2017 annual banquet Thursday, Nov. 16, at Agahloma Dairy Farm in Knox, with owners Harold and Joyce Larrabee and family serving as hosts.

The two-hour event will start at 6 p.m. with a homemade spaghetti dinner with yeast rolls, garlic bread, salad and dessert.

Following dinner, the Board of Supervisors will honor a Waldo County producer with the Conservationist of the Year award. They will also recognize an individual who has been chosen as Volunteer of the Year.

District members will give a short presentation this past year’s projects, workshop presentations, technical assistance, educational events, etc., followed by guest speaker Rebecca Huettner, who will discuss her experiences fighting forest fires in the Midwest this past summer. The evening will end with door prizes.
