Cora Parkinson

Cora Lucy (Perkins) Parkinson, 81, of Green Cove Springs, Fla., passed on Oct. 1, 2017, at a local hospital surrounded by family.

She was born Feb. 18, 1936, in Belfast, the daughter of Lawrence and Gladys (George) Perkins of Belfast.

Cora was a very kind and caring person, she made welcome all of her many relatives and friends.

She enjoyed the outdoors, was a good marksman, gardener and enjoyed playing the lottery. Cora attended Crosby High School in Belfast.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers: Newell of Augusta, Lindsey, Burton, Gerald (Pop) and Allen of Belfast, Raymond of Sandy Point, George of Ellsworth, and Earl of Frankfort; sister Priscilla Sokolovich of Pennsylvania, and her beloved grandson Joshua (Josh) Green of Florida.

Cora was a loving wife and mother and will be sadly missed by her loving family. She is survived by: Her husband of 59 years Bruce Parkinson and her daughter Ione (Parkinson) Green both of Green Cove Springs, Fla.; sisters Marieta (Rita) Jacobs of Arizona, Florence Plourde and husband R. Bernard of Bangor and many more special cousins, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held in Belfast on July 21, 2018.
