COVID-19 case reported at Mount View Elementary

Apr 09, 2021

Thorndike — A person associated with Mount View Elementary School has recently tested positive for COVID-19.

In an April 9 letter to staff, students, and families, Regional School Unit 3 Superintendent Charles Brown said anyone who was a close contact at the elementary school has been notified.

Individual classrooms at MVES that are affected will be contacted with further information about remote learning. Brown said the affected classrooms will be moved to remote learning though at least Tuesday, April 13.

The news comes on the heels of a similar notice sent out Wednesday, April 7, when a person associated with Troy Elementary School tested positive for COVID-19.

Brown said families should continue to monitor themselves and their students for signs and symptoms and call a health care provider if symptoms start.

Questions for the school can be directed to the RSU 3 health office by calling 568-4606. For general COVID-19 questions, dial 211 or 866-811-5695. People can also text their ZIP code to 898-211 or email info@211maine.org.
