Belfast — The University of Maine’s Hutchinson Center will offer an introductory class in creative writing led by Caer Hallundbaek, an award-winning author and member of the Authors Guild.

The course is open to college students and community members. Qualified high school students may enroll in the three-credit class for free tuition. Class will be held Mondays and Wednesdays, June 25 through Aug. 3, from 5 to 8:15 p.m. at the Hutchinson Center, 80 Belmont Ave./Route 3.

Hallundbaek has been published in all formats of writing, from poetry, essays and books to stage, radio and electronic media. Her books include the bestselling “Dear Little One” and “Inspired Relationships.” She served as past president of Maine Media Women.

The course explores creative writing in three areas: fiction (including creative non-fiction); poetry; and memoir.

“Come explore how these three work together, and write a lasting vignette from your own life story,” said Hallundbaek.
