Branch open for drive-through

Credit union employee tests positive for COVID-19

Three other employees quarantining at home
By Sarah E. Reynolds | Nov 20, 2020

Belfast — KSW Federal Credit Union President Desiree Gilman announced in a statement Monday, Nov. 23, that an employee at its Belfast branch had tested positive for COVID-19 last Friday, which led to the closure of the branch for the day. The branch opened Monday for drive-through service only.

The employee who tested positive "is doing okay and self-quarantining at home," according to the statement, which also noted that three other employees of the Belfast branch are quarantining at home and will return to work in two weeks.

Gilman went on to say that the credit union "is taking every precaution" and following state and CDC guidelines to protect the health of its employees and customers. The Belfast branch, she said, underwent "an extensive cleaning and disinfecting," with special attention to high-touch surfaces.

The credit union is monitoring the environment and positivity rates in the community, Gilman said, and will announce plans to reopen the Belfast lobby later.
