Crusaders stay step ahead of Lions in midseason clash

Bangor — The Belfast football team had a tough go of it on the road against John Bapst/Bangor Christian/Penobscot Christian on Friday night, Sept. 28 as the Lions dropped a 31-16 decision to the hosts.

Dylan Abbott threw a pair of 25-yard touchdown passes to Andrew Akles in the loss.

In the Maine Principals’ Association Heal Point Standings for Class C North, Belfast (1-4, 17.1875 points) is seventh, while Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield (4-1, 71.8750 points) is first in the 11-team region. The top eight teams qualify for the playoffs.
