Cuddy recognizes school counselors at State House

Augusta — Rep. Scott Cuddy, D-Winterport, joined educators Feb. 7 to recognize school counselors and Kelly O’Brien, the 2017-2018 Maine School Counselor of the Year. O’Brien is a counselor at the Weatherbee School in Hampden.
“Maine’s school counselors provide an invaluable service to our students and our communities,” Cuddy said. “It was a pleasure to spend the afternoon honoring their work.”
Cuddy is a member of the Regional School Unit 22 School Board and a longtime advocate for educators and school employees. In the 129th Legislature, he is cosponsoring a bill to protect hourly school personnel pay during school days missed due to weather and emergency closures.
Cuddy represents District 98, which includes Searsport, Frankfort, Swanville and Winterport.
