‘Curious Incident’ takes the Crosby stage

BELFAST — Midcoast Actors' Studio will open its 2019 season at the Crosby Center, 96 Church St., with a production of “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time,” which runs April 26 through May 5.

The performances are April 26, 27, May 3 and 4 at 7:30 p.m., with matinees April 28 and May 5 at 2 p.m. There will be a talk-back with the cast, crew and members of the Autism Society of Maine after the April 28 matinee. Tickets are $18 for adults and $13 for students. The show has adult language and content and is recommended for high school age and older.

There will also be a special sensory-friendly performance on Thursday, May 2, at 7:30 p.m. People with autism, their friends and family are welcome to attend.

Based on the novel by Mark Haddon, it is written by Simon Stephens. The Olivier- and Tony-Award-winning play follows a teenage mathematical genius, who sees the world in a wondrously unique way, as he sets out to solve a neighborhood mystery about a dead dog and ends up on a thrilling journey of discovery about his family and his future.

The cast includes Robbie Carroll as Christopher, Giz Coughlin as Siobhan, Jason Bannister as Ed and Danielle Bannister as Judy. A large amount of supporting characters are played by Eric Sanders, Beverly Mann, Monicque Deschamps, Peter Conant and Sarah Joy.

Suzanne Ramczyk directs the production. The set is designed by John Bielenberg. Liz Braley designs the costumes. The lights are designed by Peter Michelsen. Maggie Goscinski is the stage manager. Amy Dowley serves as assistant stage manager and prop mistress. Jay Rosenberg designs the sound. Chesley Lovell designs the projections.
