Daniel LeDuc

Mar 15, 2019

Belfast — Daniel Eugene LeDuc, born Sept. 27, 1980, in Presque Isle, passed away unexpectedly on Feb. 19, 2019, at Maine Medical Center in Portland. He was surrounded by family and passed on a free man, with dignity, love, respect and compassion.

Daniel was a strong, silly, funny, kind, man with a noble heart. He could impersonate many characters, voices and expressions. Dan enjoyed fishing in his kayak or being on the ice, camping in the Katahdin region or by any lake, the Bruins, working on projects, playing with dogs, cats and other animals he befriended, being up in Prospect, making omelets, eating sweets, D & D’s, BV, cribbage, being on the farm, heavy metal music, shoveling and, of course, walking.

He lived and worked in the Belfast area for the past five years working for White Cap Builders where he developed many endearing friendships with both his coworkers and the folks whose homes he worked on. Sanding floors was his favorite job!

Daniel is greatly missed by his chosen family Colette Jadis, Margaret Micolichek and Juliane Dow; Meg, Jen and the farm crew; the White Cap Builders Crew; the RJP team; his brother Christopher Hardison and his wife Wanda; brother Scott Vaugn; Maine Reentry Center and Limestone folks; and the many, many friends he made along the way.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 23, at Belfast Boathouse, 34 Commercial St., Belfast, from 2 to 4 p.m. Please come and bring your Dan stories.

In memory of Dan please consider volunteering or donating to The Restorative Justice Project in Belfast or by helping out someone who wants and needs to get into a recovery unit but does not have the funds. Thank you.
