David J. Malo, 80

Searsport — David J. Malo, 80, died Tuesday, Aug. 7, at Maine Veterans Home in Bangor. He was born December 5, 1931 the son of Joseph H. Malo and Rosie Malo in Old Town. David was very much a family man, and enjoyed time spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed times fishing, camping and tinkering with many different things.

He is survived by and will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 52 years, Geraldine A. (Littlefield) Malo of Sandy Point, one son David J. Malo Jr. and wife Michele of Plymouth, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister Martha Fowler; two brothers, Henry Malo and Robert Malo, along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents David was predeceased by one daughter Debora Field in 2004, as well as two brothers, James Malo and Maurice Malo.

Family and friends will gather for visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 9, at Young Funeral Home, 31 West Main Street, Searsport, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 10. Interment with military honors will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 11, at Pilgrim’s Home Cemetery in Monroe.
