David M. Bryan

Searsport — David Michael Bryan began his journey over Jan. 15, 2020.

Born in Meriden, Conn., Dec. 22, 1950, he was predeceased by his parents and three siblings.

After graduating from Southington High School in Connecticut, he attended Drew University and found he was in his element. Nicknamed The Rave, he treasured the friendships he cultivated there throughout his life. He graduated with a degree in botany.

David had a varied employment career in New Jersey and New York. In 1987 he transplanted to Maine, where his diverse employment experiences continued. He followed an entrepreneurial dream of owning a bar, The Shamrock Pub in Searsport, prior to working in customer service for Consumers Fuel.

The common denominator throughout David's life was music. Music is what resonated in his being. He was an avid fan of rock and roll. He played bass in several bands, then transitioned to lead guitar and songwriting. When he wasn't collaborating with other musicians, he enjoyed his simple pleasures of botanizing in the garden, visiting with friends, sharing a few brews and tunes.

In spite of his cardiac issues, he had a big heart and a kind spirit.

He leaves behind many friends, three nieces and his marriage partner of 36 years, Deborah Rae Watzka. David was a turbulent soul.

At his request, there will be no service. A celebration of life will be planned in the spring.
