Death of Belmont man remains under investigation

Waldo — State police are continuing to investigate the death of a Belmont man found the evening of Feb. 8 outside a home, but are not releasing details about how he died.

Police were called to a Kendall Corner Road residence where the body of 43-year-old Edwin Littlefield was discovered. Littlefield's body was taken to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Augusta and an autopsy was completed today. However, police are not releasing the cause of death at this time, according to Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland.

A team of detectives have been conducting interviews and collecting evidence at the home.

McCausland said Feb. 14 there are no new updates regarding Littlefield's death and the case remains under investigation.
