Democratic Politicians Hate America.

By Catherine Cooper | Aug 02, 2018

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Socialists are the future of the Democratic party according to Tom Perez , head of the DNC.

Have you heard, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez talk? She sounds like a Valley Girl who sputters cliches and then announces she isn't an expert on Palestine/Israeli politics. She apparently isn't an expert at healthcare either spouting typical liberal jargon like :“We’re here to talk about people paying their fair share, and we’re here to talk about saving the country, frankly,” Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said.

The Socialist/Democratic party stands for:

Sanctuary cities, where the concern lies with protecting illegals, not the American citizens who live within the cities borders.

Gun control for the lowly average American but not for the 'beautiful people', the rich and famous who have armed security.

Raising taxes on the hardworking American to pay for the invasion of America by illegals who will reside in, and be protected in, said Sanctuary Cities.

Free isn't free, government starts with $0 and only gets funds through taxes imposed on working people. BUT if you get enough illegals in here through Socialist....I mean Democrats and give them the right to vote, they'll vote for their Santa Claus, the Socialist party of America, the DNC.

Please actually take a macro-economics course, as whatever you have learned from FOX and Friends is inaccurate. Also, your ignorance of the Dixiecrats (founders of the KKK) and their move to The Republican Party after LBJ tells me that you are unaware that they are the same racists now with a different name.

I agree that the Corporate Democrats, the Neoliberals, are too cozy with Wall Street. The "tree huggers", as you call those of us who are progressive, are the ones who want our tax dollars to work for us, not for tax cuts to the wealthy. Anyone who has studied economics can tell you that "trickle-down" has NEVER worked in helping economies grow.

As far as your ability to parrot FOX lies in your blog, I have never suggested that it's not your right, merely that it's ignorant, racist, bilge that is unbecoming. That you can't constructively respond to criticism based on the quality (or lack of it) of your rhetoric, is a problem if you want to be a respected blogger.

Typo correction

The  Constitution informs the governing how to govern, that's it.

Maybe you should take a civics class. The 1st Amended and the whole Constitution for that matter does not apply to non government entities like Village Soup, Facebook, the company you work for or any other private or commercial entity. This is a common mistake people make. They are free to censor you or anyone at their hearts content and you can't do anything about it. The  Constitution informs the governing how govern, that's it.

When blocked, censored or comments deleted the fisr thing people scream is "the 1st Amendment. Does not apply.

"I walked away from the Republicans.  I renounce my membership in the Republican Party.  It is corrupt, indecent and immoral.  Every one of these complicit leaders will carry this shame through history.  Their legacies will be ones of well earned ignominy.  They have disgraced their country and brough dishonor to the Party of Lincoln.  Today the GOP has become a danger to our democracy and values."
-Steve Schimdt, former GOP strategist,  Senator John McCain's 2008 senior presidential campaign strategist and advisor.

Let's be clear single-payer, Medicare-for-all is paid through our taxes. Nothing is "free", but allocating our tax dollars to the common good - healthcare, education infrastructure, is the what taxpayers are looking for in our government -NOT tax cuts to billionaires.

Ocasio-Cortez and the Berniecrats are FDR Democrats looking for 21st Century New Deal.

The Republicans have allowed a despot into the White House. They have looted the treasury with give-a-ways to Trump and his cronies, as well as their own coffers.

The Welfare thieves are the Republicans and Corporate Dems in Federal, State and Local governments. The idea that progressive Democrats "Hate America" is ridiculous and insulting to anyone with half a brain.

Also, insulting to intelligence is the idea of all the "free stuff" non-citizens supposedly get. Catherine Cooper's ignorant racist bilge is the stuff of the White Nationalist, Nazi wing of the Trump-Pence Republican base. It is unbecoming spew in such an otherwise welcoming community as Belfast.

After reading these quotes by Ocasio-Cortez I think I share her views to a point. Those who need health care and go to a hospital will regardless get care. This is America and no one is turned away unless it is a private hospital. But then that was what it was like when I grew up. Now I guess one needs expensive health insurance or the bill is due. Or if they have government supplied insurance, once call Welfare. Personally I was raised to always have Health Insurance and to pay my own way. Perhaps there is a new generation who do not. Well, at 83 years young, I can only hope in positive change and everyone pays their own way.

" Polling in recent years has consistently shown a majority of millennials are enthusiastic about “socialism,” often preferring it to “capitalism.” For millennials, “capitalism” means “unaccountable rich people ripping off the world,” while “socialism” simply means “not that.”

Indeed, when the newest star on the left, soon-to-be Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York discusses her vision for “democratic socialism,” her agenda sounds a lot like old-school New Deal liberalism, or basic, functional, small-d democracy.

“In a modern, moral and wealthy society, no American should be too poor to live,” Ocasio-Cortez told NBC’s Chuck Todd earlier this month. “Every working-class American in this country should have access to dignified health care, should actually be able to see a doctor without going broke. It means you should be able to send your kids to college and trade school if they so choose, and no person should feel precarious or unstable in their access to housing.”
