Downtown has been a very busy place for a while now, and opportunities to get into storefronts on Main Street or High Street usually don’t last very long. That was the case when recent renovations to Belfast Bay Inn produced two new storefronts. The spots were quickly snatched up, and the new tenants — Katwalk and Epoch — held openings March 27.

Katwalk has offered fashions and friendly service on upper Main Street for many years, and has now relocated to 70 Main St.

“We’re very excited about the move, and love the new space," said Katwalk co-owner Kat Loblein, while cleaning and organizing on opening day. "We can bring all of our favorites plus introduce new items. This has been a wonderful move.”

Moving into the new space at 72 Main St. is Epoch (pronounced “epic”), which is familiar to Belfast shoppers from its prior treasures and collectibles location across the street, which closed last summer. The store’s brief hiatus has resulted in the move to a smaller but quite comfortable space. Owner Chase Hall was happy with the opening.

“I am thrilled to be back on Main Street with Epoch Vintage Lifestyle Market and cannot wait to greet my regular customers back, as well as first-time customers to the new location,” Hall said.

Belfast Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Steve Ryan said, "While the moves leave the previous Katwalk storefront empty, with the dynamic retail and business community in Belfast, it should not remain unoccupied for very long."
