Scholarship available for agriculture education

ELLSWORTH — Graduating seniors from Maine high schools who are National FFA (Future Farmers of America) organization members and interested in pursuing a career in farming, agriculture or natural resources are invited to apply for a Ronald P. Guerrette FFA Scholarship through the Maine Community Foundation.

The Guerrette FFA Scholarship Fund provides one $1,000 scholarship per year. The application deadline is March 1. To learn more, visit the statewide scholarships section of MaineCF’s website, mainecf.org.

The fund was created in 1998 by friends and family of Ronald P. Guerrette of Caribou to honor his life and work.

Hubbard makes fall dean's list

WILLIMANTIC, Conn. — Eastern Connecticut State University recently released its fall dean's list. Among the students recognized is Chase Hubbard, class of '22, of Knox, who majors in health sciences.

Dean's list recognition is given to students with a GPA of 3.50 or higher.

Champlain College honors Kelly

BURLINGTON, Vt. — Isobel Kelly of Belfast has been named to the Champlain College dean's list for the fall semester.

Students on the dean's list have achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or higher during the semester.

Dunton named to Colby dean's list

WATERVILLE — Piper C. Dunton of Lincolnville was recently named to the dean's list at Colby College in Waterville for outstanding academic achievement during the fall semester. Dunton is one of 566 Colby students, or 27% of the qualified student body, to make the dean's list last semester.

A member of the class of 2022, Dunton attended Camden Hills Regional High School. She is the daughter of Kirk and Rebecca Dunton of Lincolnville. Dunton earned a semester GPS of 3.75 or higher last fall to be included on Colby's dean's list.

UNH recognizes students on fall dean's list

DURHAM, N.H. -- The following Waldo County students have been named to the dean's list at the University of New Hampshire for the fall semester:

- Thomas Farrar of Winterport, earning highest honors and majoring in biomedical science: medical and veterinary science.

- Emily Bethune of Islesboro, earning highest honors and majoring in anthropology.

- Emily Morse of Lincolnville, earning highest honors and majoring in human development and family studies.

- Logan McHaney of Belfast, earning high honors and majoring in engineering physics.

Highest honors are awarded to UNH students who earn a semester GPA of 3.85 or better. Students with a 3.65 to 3.84 average are awarded high honors.

Belfast student named to URI dean's list

KINGSTON, R.I. — The University of Rhode Island has named Alex Doyne-Ditmas of Belfast to its fall dean's list. To achieve dean's list status, students must earn a quality point average of at least 3.30.
