Franks graduates from Castleton

CASTLETON, Vt. — Mary Franks of Liberty graduated May 16 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Castleton University, following her successful completion of the spring semester.

The class of 2020 commencement ceremony is scheduled for the spring of 2021, which will be Castleton's 233rd commencement.

Lincolnville woman named to dean's list

CASTLETON, Vt. — Sophia Buckley-Clement of Lincolnville was recently named to  Castleton University dean's list for the spring semester. To qualify for this academic honor, the student must maintain a semester grade point average of 3.5.

Endicott College announces dean's list

BEVERLY, Mass. — Trajan Gilson of Lincolnville has been named to the dean's list at Endicott College. The son of Kristi Hardy-Gilson and Douglas Gilson, he is majoring in marketing communication and advertising. To qualify for the dean's list, a student must obtain a minimum grade point average of 3.5.

Local resident makes William & Mary dean's list

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — Carolin Helmholz of Lincolnville was recently named to the dean's list at the College of William & Mary for the spring semester.  To achieve dean's list status, a full-time degree seeking undergraduate student must earn a 3.6 quality point average during the semester.

Nichols makes BSC president's honor roll

BISMARCK, N.D. — Nathaniel Nichols of Palermo has been named to the president's honor roll for spring semester at Bismarck State College.

Academic honors for Palermo woman

GROVE CITY, Pa. — Kayla Hubbard of Palermo, a mathematics major at Grove City College, has been named to the dean's list with distinction for the spring semester. A 2018 graduate of Erskine Academy, she and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Hubbard (Julie) of Palermo.

Students eligible for the dean's list with distinction have earned a GPA of 3.60 to 3.84.

Local man graduates from Dickinson

CARLISLE, Pa. — Luke Burstein, son of John and Christine Burstein of Lincolnville, graduated magna cum laude from Dickinson College in May with a B.A. in economics. Burstein is a graduate of Camden Hills Regional High School.

Lincolnville woman named to Emerson dean's list

BOSTON — Anna Christie of Lincolnville has been named to Emerson College's spring dean's list. Christie is majoring in media arts production and is a member of the class of 2020. The requirement to make Emerson's dean's list is a GPA of 3.7 or higher.

Dean's list honors for area students

WATERVILLE — Thomas College has named the following students to its spring dean’s list: Lauren Blood, Kelci Faulkingham, Ryan Fitzjurls and Jeremiah King, all of Belfast; Alicia Greene of Belmont; Alexis Bowman of Freedom; Samuel St. Onge of Jackson; and Amber Beaulieu and Faith Beaulieu, both of Northport.

Dinsmore graduates from Colby College

WATERVILLE — Emery E. Dinsmore of Waldo was one of 480 seniors who graduated from Colby College May 24. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Dinsmore, who majored in history, attended Belfast Area High School and is the son of Martha Ross of Waldo and Arthur Dinsmore of Searsmont.

Lincolnville man named to Ithaca dean's list

ITHACA, N.Y. — Ithaca College student Tyler Bilodeau of Lincolnville has achieved dean's list status for the spring semester. He is majoring in integrated marketing communications.

Three earn dean's list status at UNH

DURHAM, N.H. — The following students have been named to the dean's list at the University of New Hampshire for the spring semester.

Emily Bethune of Islesboro for earning highest honors. Bethune is majoring in anthropology.

Thomas Farrar of Winterport for earning high honors. Farrar is majoring in BiomedSci:Med&VetSci.

Logan McHaney of Belfast for earning honors. McHaney is majoring in engineering physics.

Prospect man named to WPI dean's list

WORCESTER, Mass. — Worcester Polytechnic Institute announced that Johann Bradley of Prospect, a member of the class of 2021 majoring in industrial engineering, has been named to the spring dean's list for academic excellence.

WPI does not compute a grade point average (GPA). Instead, WPI defines the dean's list by the amount of work completed at the A level in courses and projects.

Maritime Energy announces scholarships

Maritime Energy has awarded $500 scholarships to children or grandchildren of its employees, including:

Donovan Armstrong, son of Brianne Johnson, Maritime’s Montville office field dispatcher, who graduated from Belfast High School, and is applying to the University of Maine.

Dylan Abbott, an employee at Maritime’s Belmont Store, who graduated from Belfast High School and will be attending Maine Maritime Academy.

Bickford earns BS degree

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Charles Bickford of Belfast graduated from Springfield College with a Bachelor of Science degree in health science and pre-physical therapy.
