EMA offers free course in emergency preparedness

Belfast — Waldo County Emergency Management Agency is offering a free evening course in emergency preparedness. Interested participants can choose from four sessions scheduled in September, October and November. All are welcome.

Disasters can and do happen. Are you ready? Are you willing to risk the safety and security of your family? Being prepared can be easy and inexpensive. Waldo County EMA's disaster preparedness course will provide the information you need to deal with natural and man-made disasters. Information materials are provided, and there is no fee to attend.

Preparedness 101: An Introduction to Being Prepared will be offered Wednesday, Sept. 19; Wednesday, Oct. 3; Thursday, Oct. 25; and Thursday, Nov. 1, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at 4 Public Safety Way, Belfast.

Anyone wishing to attend a session is asked to preregister, either in person, by calling 338-3870, or by emailing ema@waldocountyme.gov.
