Engage Waldo to hold rally in support of impeachment Dec. 17

Belfast — On the evening before the U.S. House of Representatives votes on articles of impeachment, events will held all over the country in local communities and at the offices of federal legislators.

In Belfast, the activist group Engage Waldo and other local organizations will hold a candlelight rally at 5:30 p.m. in Post Office Square.

According to Engage Waldo spokeswoman Trudy Miller, the group's purpose is to strongly encourage Democratic 2nd District Congressman Jared Golden to vote in favor articles of impeachment and to strongly encourage Maine Sens. Republican Susan Collins and independent Angus King, to vote to remove President Donald Trump from office.
