'Every Fiber of My Being' at Hutchinson

“Colorful Coral” by Searsport artist Sandi Cirillo is part of the new exhibition at the University of Maine's Hutchinson Center in Belfast.

Belfast — More than 50 works by Maine fiber artists will be featured in “Every Fiber of My Being,” which opens with a 5 to 9 p.m. reception Friday, Feb. 9, in the hallway Fernald Gallery of the University of Maine's Hutchinson Center, 80 Belmont Ave./Route 3.

Works demonstrating techniques and forms will include wall hangings, wearable art, vessels and more. Artists represented in the show include Sandi Cirillo, Stephanie Crossman, Sister Bette Edl, Kathleen Goddu, Shira Joys, Susan Mills, Jessica Peil-Meininghaus, Jeanne Perkins, Meryl Ruth, Cathie Stebbens Peterson, Derreth Roberts, Jude Spacks, Susie Stephenson, Jo Swift and Alice Timmons.

The opening reception and exhibit are open to the public and are free of charge. The H. Allen and Sally Fernald Art Gallery is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. “Every Fiber of My Being” will run through May 4.
