'Fall Fury' 150 Enduro caps shortened Wiscasset Speedway race season

St. Clairs battle to finish of recent 40-lap Late Model Sportsman race

Wiscasset — The shortened Wiscasset Speedway season came to a close on Saturday, Oct. 10 with the "Fall Fury" 150 Enduro race.

Due to the pandemic-shortened season, traditional points were not compiled in 2020 for season-ending divisional championships.

Overall, however, there was plenty of weekly success for Knox, Waldo, Lincoln county drivers

On Oct. 10, Zach Audet of Norridgewock outdistanced a field of 77 to win the "Fall Fury." Johnathon Oaks of Appleton finished eighth as the top local finisher.

Drivers also were back at it on Saturday, Oct. 3 for four races as one week of track work remained.

On Saturday, Sept. 26, in the eighth annual Amsoil Dominator Strictly Shootout hit the track for a 50-lap feature.

In the nearly 46 minutes of racing, there were five cautions, and three lead changes as Jonathon Emerson of Sabattus pulled into the coveted winner's circle.

Other racing action had Group 2 drivers battle for a shot at being first to the checkered flag.

Nick Reno took the win in the Hancock Heights Modifieds 30-lap event. Area drivers, Ryan Ripley of Thomaston and Michael Brown of Hope took second- and third-place finishes.

Ryan St. Clair of Liberty edged brother, Josh, for the win in the Wood Pellet Warehouse Late Model Sportsman 40-lap event.
