First National Bank recently announced a $10,000 donation sponsoring the 7Tree Football Club towards their trip to the Donosti Cup in Spain.

Since 1992, the Donosti Cup in San Sebastian, Spain has hosted participants from over 60 countries and five continents in an international soccer tournament. The athletes on the 7Tree FC team, made up of high school students from Lincoln and Knox County, are fundraising to reach their $50,000 goal by May 2020.

“Our goal is to provide a chance to explore a new culture, through soccer, to kids who otherwise might not have the chance to travel abroad,” said 7Tree FC’s coach, Patrick Mellor. “One of the defining elements of our club is giving back to the community that supports us. Our players will each choose at least two volunteer activities to which they will give their time and efforts.”

“We’re proud to support the 7Tree Football Club players Dream Big!” said First National Bank’s President and CEO, Tony McKim. “Their dedication to teamwork and volunteerism provides a great example to student athletes in our community.”
