Northport — The first ace of the season at a golf club always is reason for celebration and with one beautiful — and perfect — swing on Thursday, May 21 Brian Beaulieu of Northport began this year's party.

The Northport Golf Club member experienced his first career hole-in-one on his home course when he aced the 148-yard, par-3 ninth hole. He used an 8-iron and Vice ball for the accurate tee shot.

The hole-in-one was witnesses by Preston Ward, Paul Doody and Scott Hawthorne.

NGC is open to members and residents of Waldo County. Tee times are required and can be made by calling the pro shop at 207-338-2270.

The club continues to follow the COVID-19 (coronavirus) prevention guidelines provided by the state for safe operation of golf courses.

Initially, early in the spring, the course was open to members only, but now has opened to all Waldo County residents.
