Four-Week French Cooking and Conversation Starts April 24th!

A four-week session of French Cooking and Conversation will be held from 5:45-8:45 on Tuesdays starting April 24th at Penobscot Language School in Rockland.  Participants will create dishes from the island of Reunion, Paris, the southwest region of Lot, and Normandy under the direction of Clovis Anjard, a native of Reunion who also spent many years in Normandy.  Dishes will include Ti Jak Boucane, a main dish of braised pork with Jack Fruit, tarte tatin, a classic French upside down apple dessert, tarte au noix, a specialty from the Cahors region, and moules a la normande, an appetizer cooked in hard cider.

Registration at $245 per person includes 12 hours of class and all ingredients.  Participants will enjoy a full French meal at the end of each session.  Recipes are in both French and English with some cultural background provided.  No previous experience with the French language is needed.  To register, visit Language Classes/French at penobscot.us or call 594-1084.
