Free community event Aug. 12

Everyone is welcome to a free pig roast with all the fixin's Sunday, Aug. 12, from 4 to 7 p.m.!

The event is hosted by Faith Temple Church at 193 Lincolnville Ave., Belfast (next to Troy Howard Middle School). In addition to the free meal, the Route 17 Ramblers will provide musical entertainment while kids enjoy a free bounce house and craft booth. There will also be cornhole (bean bag toss), horseshoes, shuffleboard and a country store.

The Belfast Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3108 color guard will open the event with the presentation of our national colors and "Taps." Please bring a lawn chair. For more information, please call Joy Asuncion at 207-930-5640.

Free Sawyer Brown concert

Don't forget this concert by American country band Sawyer Brown Saturday, Aug. 18, from 4:30 to 10 p.m. at the Balsam Valley Amphitheater on Champion Road, Columbia Falls. Tickets are free for active duty military and veterans.
