Free parenting programs available

Parents are invited to build a stronger relationship with their children in three- and four-session programs coming up this month from Midcoast Maine Community Action.

Each session of Active Parenting First Five Years and Active Parenting for Parents of Children Ages 5 to 12 is two hours, one evening a week. Parents and caregivers will learn about stages of development, styles of parenting, effective discipline techniques, communicating effectively, brain development, understanding misbehavior, and much more.

Active Parenting First Five Years is scheduled for Thursdays, Oct. 15, 22 and 29, and Nov, 5, via Zoom. Morning sessions are 9:30 to 11:30; evening sessions are 6 to 8. To register, contact Helen Rogers, 844-1285 or helen.rogers@mmcacorp.org.

Active Parenting for Parents of Children Ages 5 to 12 will run Oct. 14, 21 and 28 from 6 to 8 p.m.
