Free 'Repair Cafe' Friday

Learn to sew a resuable produce bag during the Repair Cafe Friday outside Waterfall Arts.

Belfast — Belfast Community Works will host a free Repair Cafe at the Belfast Farmers' Market Friday, July 12, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. outside at Waterfall Arts, 256 High St.

This event is all about sharing good practical knowledge, helping the environment by keeping stuff out of the landfill, and building community. Everyone is invited to learn how to sew an up-cycled reusable produce bag. If your bike has a flat tire, bring in over and get help patching or replacing it (bring your inner tubes).

Do you have a lamp that won’t light, broken blender, toasted toaster or frayed electrical cords? A team of tinkerers will be available to work with you to fix small electrical appliances. Bring replacement parts if you have them.

Belfast Community Works is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to be a shared space for makers, builders, tinkerers, and dreamers of all ages that enriches our community and encourages innovation, creativity and connections throughout Belfast and beyond. FMI: facebook.com/bcwmaker.
