The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) ensures that low-income children continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session.

This summer, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food and Nutrition Service plans to serve more than 200 million free meals to children 18 years and under at approved SFSP sites, including 10 to date in Waldo County and one in Bucksport.

Meals are provided to all children 18 years and younger at no charge. Some serve both breakfast and lunch; others serve lunch only. Dates, days of the weeks and times differ; note that most sites are expected to be closed July 4.
