Free talk: Creating an Eco-Friendly Backyard

Oct 06, 2019
Planting native plants is important to maintaining an eco-friendly environment.

Stockton Springs — Dr. Roger Rittmaster, Maine master naturalist, avid nature photographer and Coastal Mountains Land Trust board member, will discuss why native plants and insects are so important in a talk on Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 6:30 p.m. at Stockton Springs Community Library.

Each opportunity to invite and sustain pollinators is critical as open space becomes more limited. Ensuring that what is planted is native, inviting and nourishing to a wide range of insects and butterflies is important. This presentation will give you the information you need and help you identify what you see when you go hiking or visiting open spaces.
