Voice of Freedom

Here it is October! Time to prepare for Ole’ Man Winter! I hope winter goes by as quickly as did the summer. My favorite season is fall. I love the changing of the colors of the foliage, the cooler and more comfortable temperatures, and the beginning of preparing for the holidays this month and in November and December.

In November, the Freedom Rec. Committee will hold their annual Veterans Day service on Sunday, Nov. 11. It will be held in the Freedom Congregational Church. We are now looking for veterans, flag holders, color guard and basically some to take part in the program. We would appreciate any volunteers, and if you are interested, please contact Cindy Abbott by calling 382-6177.

Congratulations to Brit and Jon Shaw, who exchanged wedding vows this past Saturday up North country in Rockwood on Moosehead Lake. It was one of the nicest weddings I ever attended.

They exchanged their vows atop an incline overlooking Moosehead Lake. The reception was under a Big Top White Tent and there were approximately 150 people in attendance. The music was great, the food delicious, and the atmosphere was filled with love! The couple looked so happy and the groom was handsome, the bride beautiful and the parents of both Jon and Britt looked so proud. It was a wonderful event and I wish them a happy marriage filled with good health and lots of love. Jon is the son of Bonnie and Steve Shaw of Freedom. The foliage was beautiful also.

If you have anything you would like to share with the readers of TRJ, please contact me at the above number.

Until next week, stay well, stay safe, be kind to each other and God bless!
