Rec. Comm:

We are looking for new members. What I am hoping for now is that we can recruit some volunteers. For the Freedom Rec. Comm. We are only a handful of people and we could really use the help.  Our projects include, a parade in the summer, Veteran’s Day, Halloween, Christmas Craft Fair and whatever else that might cone up.  Think about it, we meet once a month, no dues involved and remember, it is for the benefit of the children that we would like to make plans so that when that grow up they will gave fond memories of Freedom  Our next event is a parade Saturday, Aug. 26, and the theme is:

Paws for a Cause

We will be collecting donations of money, dog and cat food, treats, blankets, carriers, coats, sweaters, leashes, collars, etc. and so much more.  We will donate it to the Waterville Humane Society.

There will also be a Chicken BBQ given by the Freedom Volunteer Fire Department which will be held in the Freedom Park, a yard sale, games, Pine Tree Boat Association of antique boats on Freedom Pond starting at 11:30 a.m.

Music for your entertainment and a variety of games to be played.

We would like to see the residents join in the parade and in the festivities afterward. Show your support and let’s give to the animals who always give us their unconditional love.

By the time you read this, we will have made a big improvement to the playground in the park.  Wood chips have been placed under and around the playground equipment which makes it safer for the boys and girls.  .
