Freedom Booster and Rec. Comm: The Officers of 2018 are Chair Cindy Abbott, Vice Chair, Alyessa Bruger, Secretary Sallyann Hadyniak and Treasurer Erna Keller.  We have set our dates for this year for our events which include a yard sale Saturday, April 28,an indoor week long yard sale in June 4-12,   parade consisting of antique cars, motorcycles, boats, chicken BBQ, yard sale and games   August 18. (Parade theme to follow)  We need and are looking for 4 color guards.  Veterans Day on November 11.   Halloween Party and Trunk or Treat on October 28 and Christmas Craft Fair December more information to follow.  Stay Tuned.  Also check our Freedom Booster & Rec. Comm.  Face Book page for updates.  Stop by and take notice of our “Let Freedom Bling” page too.   We are selling Paparazzi   Earrings, necklaces, long and short, bracelets, children’s jewelry, men’s jewelry. Everything is lead and nickel free and only $5.00.   Children’s jewelry is only $1.00.  New pieces will be4 added frequently.


Meetings:

The Selectmen will meet on Monday, April 23, qat the Town Office starting at 6:00 p.m.  All Selectmen’s Meetings are open to the public.  The Town Office is located at 71 Pleasant Street, between the Freedom Fire House and the Freedom Congregational Church.

Planning Board:

Prentice Grassi is now the Chair of the Planning Board and Kevin Malady is the Secretary.  There is still an empty seat on the Board so if there is anyone interested in filling the seat please notify the Board of Selectmen or Prentice Grassi.

Mark the Date:

Friday, June 1 will be the collection of brown goods~ Have your “stuff” curbside by 7:00 a.m.

Dirigo Grange #98:

April is National Grange Month.   Every year Dirigo gives certificates of appreciation to a person or group for their community service. This year we have chosen Kim Holmes Steve Holmes Scott Holmes, Erna Keller, Derek Keller Dillion Keller, and Cindy Abbott, for their work maintaining the local cemeteries. The program will be held on April 19 at 7 P.M. Snacks will be served afterward.

Brooks Ladies Fellowship will be having their annual fundraising Craft/Antique Fair on June 2, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. If you have “old” items in your barn or garage that you think are antiques, or if you make crafts, jewelry, soaps, etc., we would like to invite you to have a table at our event. Inside tables are $10.00, limit two per vendor. Outside 10’ by 10’ spaces are $25.00 limit two spaces per vendor. For more information and registration form please contact Karen at 722-3056. Deadline is April 30, 2018 or when capacity is reached. Because of limited space, we cannot “hold” spaces, registration and payment are required to guarantee space.

CALL TO ARTISTS

16th Annual Festival of Art

June 7–10, 2018

Senior College at Belfast invites all Maine artists, 50 and older, amateur and professional, to participate in the 2018 Festival of Art to be held at the University of Maine Hutchinson Center in Belfast, June 7 thru 10, 2018.

The registration period for artists is March 1 thru 31, 2018

Crafting, knitting, crocheting, cross stitching etc.

Every Tuesday the S & B Girls will be meeting at the Town Office starting at 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. We do all kinds of crocheting, knitting, stitching and or crafts. Anyone can come on down and join us, learn how to do what is of interest to you and join in the fun. Every week books are available for your taking to choose from for patterns and instructions of anything you may want to do. The books are donated and they are yours for the taking. (Free). Looking forward to seeing some new faces so won’t you join us in

the fun and two hours of relaxation?
