Happy birthday

Warren Moody will be celebrating his 90th birthday on Sunday, June 23, starting at 1 p.m. at the Freedom Congregational Church. All are invited to drop by and wish Warren a happy birthday! There will be refreshments served and please, don’t bring any birthday gifts. Your presence will be his present.

A human interest story, but true! On Tuesday during our S & B at the Town Office, a hummingbird flew into the office. We opened up two doors and tried to get her out. I asked, “Ron, where are you when we need you.” A few minutes later, Selectman Ron Price entered the building and with a snow shovel in his hand and Town Clerk Cindy Abbott with a broom in her hand, tried to chase the hummingbird toward the open doors to get her out. She didn’t want any part of it. It seems she stopped by to cast a NO vote regarding the recall of the two selectmen.

After about an hour, I called Mark Payne at Avian Haven and asked him to come to the rescue of the hummingbird. Within a few minutes, Mark arrived and captured her with a net. She then voted NO and Mark took her outside and let her free to spread the word! Thank you, Mark!

Swearing in

On Friday, June 14, my grandson, Tyler Charles Hadyniak, will be sworn into the Maine Bar at the Capitol Judiciary Center in Augusta at 2 p.m. He will be traveling the country defending veterans against the government for benefits they never received.

New Position

My other grandson, Kyle Alexander Hadyniak, after working for two years as a producer at News Center Maine, Kyle will begin his new job in Augusta on Monday, June 10. He will be director of communications for the Maine Department of Administrative and Financial Services.

Good luck to both my grandsons and know that your family and I are very proud of you both.

That is all for this week, so until next week, stay cool, stay safe, be kind to your neighbor and God bless!
