Back home in Freedom

Tyler Charles Hadyniak attended the pre-inauguration luncheon on Sunday, Jan. 20, and had a great time at the New Zealand Embassy in Washington, D.C.  He got to meet or reintroduce himself to former Governors John Baldacci and Joseph Brennan, Sens. Angus King, Susan Collins and Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Rep. Mike Michaud, and former Sen. William Hathaway.

Even though the sheer number of people means he will never, ever go again, it was good to get the experience of attending a presidential inauguration.

His favorite part was when the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir performed "The Battle Hymn of the Republic."

Tyler found it to be very inspiring and stated that the female soloist had the voice of an angel. He said that was his most favorite part of the inauguration.

Needless to say, he was excited about seeing the President of the United States being sworn in and just being there!

Voice of Freedom

It’s been very quiet around town. I guess it has just been too cold with frigid temperatures for most to go out except for some meetings.

The Budget Committee finalized the figures for the Town Report at a meeting held on Thursday, January 24. Chairman Doug Van Horn would like to thank everyone for their time and cooperation.

The next Selectmen’s meeting will be held on Monday, Jan. 28, at the Town Office starting at 6 p.m.

All committee reports must be turned in to the Town Office no later then Feb. 11 in order to make the deadline for the Town Warrant. There will not be any exceptions for late reports.

Dog licenses

Your pets must have their licenses no later then the end of the month of January 2013 or a penalty will be imposed beginning Feb. 1. Contact Cindy Abbott at the Town Office, 382-6177.

Andrew Bridges, son of Carol and Bryan Bridges, grandson of Glen and Dave Bridges, is studying theater at NYU and recently did a video on Lance Armstrong. He did such a fine job that it was picked up by a TV show. Check it out!
