G.E.A.R. Parent Network offers free drive-in film for families

Jun 22, 2020

Skowhegan — Although its planned family picnic was canceled this summer, G.E.A.R. Parent Network has found a replacement event that meets CDC guidelines for group gatherings.

On Thursday, July 2, Skowhegan Drive-In Theater, 201 Waterville Road, is sponsoring a free showing of the Disney-Pixar animated film, "Inside Out." To attend, families (carloads) must preregister at 1-800-264-9224. The gate opens at 7:45 p.m., and the movie begins at 8:30 p.m.

Find the “Inside Out” movie trailer on YouTube for a preview. "Inside Out" runs for 95 minutes.

Disney-Pixar’s "Inside Out" takes a rollicking journey into the mind to find the answer. Based in Headquarters, the control center of 11-year old Riley’s mind, five emotions are hard at work, led by lighthearted optimist Joy. She strives to make sure Riley stays happy as she operates alongside fellow emotions Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness.

Only families who have preregistered will be allowed in. When arriving at the gate, give name of person who registered the carload of people. You will be asked for only the first name of all riders.

According to COVID-19 group restrictions, G.E.A.R. will provide guidelines for wearing masks when not in a vehicle and to remain in your car or in front of your car. Parking will be spaced allowing for physical distancing between vehicles. Bring your own snacks or the concession stand will have refreshments available for purchase; portable bathrooms will also be available.
