Fire – On Monday night last the barn of Capt. Isaac Smalley on the Head of the Tide road was discovered to be on fire, and was consumed with the adjoining ell part of the house, before the firemen succeeded in extinguishing it. Capt. S. succeeded in saving two cows from the barn, and the furniture from the house. Capt. S. thinks it was the work of an incendiary, but we trust it was rather the effect of accident or oversight on the part of some person who entered the barn with a light.

Single Gentlemen, or gentlemen and their wives can obtain genteel board at the well-known house situated on Church Street, opposite the Unitarian Church, recently occupied by the late Menasseh Sleeper, Esq., which for beauty of location and convenience is not surpassed by any situation in town.
