Lincolnville — Local author Tess Gerritsen will be guest speaker at the Lincolnville Community Library’s third presentation for 2013, along with local combo All That Jazz, Wednesday, April 17, beginning 7 p.m. at Lincolnville Community Library, at the corner of Main Street/Route 173 and Heal Road in Lincolnville Center. Tickets are $10 and space is limited; for advance tickets are more information, call Rosey Gerry at 975-5432.

Gerritsen’s first novel was published in 1987. “Call After Midnight,” a romantic thriller, was followed by eight more romantic suspense novels. She also wrote a screenplay, “Adrift”, which aired as a 1993 CBS Movie of the Week starring Kate Jackson. Her subsequent run of medical thrillers have been published in 40 countries, and more than 25 million copies have been sold around the world. Her series of novels featuring homicide detective Jane Rizzoli and medical examiner Maura Isles inspired the TNT television series “Rizzoli & Isles,” starring Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander.

All That Jazz is an instrumental/vocal collaboration that works with popular and well-known jazz standards; favorite material runs from Ellington to Monk to Miles. The combo consists of a piano, bass and drum rhythm section, often supplemented with sax. Bill Hahn is on keyboards. In addition to vocals, the bottom end is provided by Reny Stackpole on upright string bass. Hank Lunn both leads and backs up the organization with vocals and percussion. Wayne Delano, who has traveled the world with his horn, brings new ideas to the music at every turn.
