GoldenOak takes Crosby stage for Whoopla

Feb 15, 2018
GoldenOak, perennial artists of the All Roads Music Festival, return to Belfast for the first Winter Whoopla celebration.

Belfast — Portland-based GoldenOak will perform Saturday, Feb. 24, at 3 p.m. at the Crosby Center, 96 Church St., as part of Belfast's first Winter Whoopla celebration.

GoldenOak is an indie soul-folk band fronted by sibling duo Zak and Lena Kendall. They began to write music and perform in 2014; and released their first album, “Pleasant St., co-written with cellist Seth Wegner, in 2016. Over the last two years, the brother-sister band has shared stages with notable artists such as Lady Lamb, The Ghost of Paul Revere and The Mallett Brothers Band. This past October, GoldenOak released “Foxgloves,” a six-track EP, which, in December, was voted EP of the Year in the Portland Music Awards. The siblings record and often tour with fellow musicians and band mates Wegner (cello), Max Eddington (piano) and Jackson Cromwell (percussion).

Tickets are $5, free for children younger than 9, and are available for advance purchase at crosbycenter.ticketbud.com. For more information, contact the Crosby Center at 370-6622 and check out the Facebook event. For a complete Belfast Winter Whoopla schedule, visit belfastmaine.org.
