• ‘Marlinspike Seamanship-Nautical Arts’ provides 6 sessions to master decorative and practical rope work. Learn from the local master, Capt. Gene Reil, on Tuesday evenings from 6-8pm, starting February 27th.

• ’Medical Terminology’ gives you a working medical vocabulary that spans human anatomy and physiology, with activities to support how the terminology is used in practice. This valuable asset for those pursuing the healthcare field meets Tuesdays from 5:30-8pm for 10 weeks, starting February 27th.

• ‘Home Buying Made Simple’ (imagine peeling away the layers of stress) with clear finance strategies, understanding credit terminology, navigating loans and credit reports, and more. Lots of take-home printouts for reference, and a bowl of chocolates to aid with focus. One night: Thursday, March 1st at 6pm.

• And for more chocolates, enroll in this 2nd one-night class: ‘Small Business Basics’. Rebecca Barrett & Scott Masterson explain types of business ownership and how to anticipate the many layers of financial responsibility. With takeaway info & priced right, Thurs., March 8th from 6-8.

• ‘Fraud Protection’ is a one-night class that helps you recognize common scams and identity theft schemes, and report fraudulent problems. Rebecca Barrett & Steven Gardiner also present ways to protect yourself from future schemes. Thursday, March 15th from 6-8pm.

• ‘Plumbing Basics’ tackles common plumbing problems, what methods, tools and supplies to use for simple repairs, a plan for preventative maintenance, and when to call a professional. Mike Kee instructs for 5 Tuesdays, starting March 13th, from 6-8pm.

• ‘Medicare 101’ helps clarify the mysteries of the Medicare enrollment system. Be able to make enlightened decisions about the best fit for your Medicare registration. Brooke Jansen presents this free one-night class on Wed., March 14th from 5:30-7:00pm. Registration is required to attend.

• ‘Cooking with Sea Vegetables’ introduces you to the culinary opportunities of our local sea plants. Kara Ibarguen from Maine coast Sea Vegetables provides plant characteristics, prepping tips, product, recipes and groceries to prepare a hearty lunch enhanced with sea vegetables. One day: Saturday, March 17th from 10am to 1pm.

• ‘American Red Cross CPR/1st Aid/AED training and certification’ is available on Saturday, March 17th from 9am to 3pm. This training and certification covers handling adult and youth (over 12), recognizing and providing care for sudden injury or illness until EMS arrive. This is presented by Maine Safety Education.
