Harbor Artisans celebrates winter

Dec 01, 2018
Belfast’s Harborside Artisans is wrapping up its first year back downtown in holiday mode.

Belfast — The downtown Harbor Artisans cooperative has a couple of special events planned for December. Through Wednesday, Dec. 12, the 12 Days of Christmas event features one hidden wrapped gift in the shop each day. The first shopper to find it gets the gift free. There also is a raffle to give away a 13th gift, so every visitor gets a shot at winning.

The gallery will participate in the year’s final art walk Friday, Dec. 7, from 5 to 8 p.m., and its artists will be bringing in works focused on winter. As usual, there will be refreshments, including homemade wine crafted by one of the Harbor Artisans.

The gallery is welcoming several guest artists for the month offering chocolates by Maine Gourmet Chocolates, felted winter works by Susan Trip, sewing delights by Fran Howley, wood turning by Eric Johnson and felted works by Rose Whitehead.

The Harbor Artisans shop is open every day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., except Christmas Day. Occasionally, the gallery closes due to inclement weather, posted on its Facebook page. The last day of the season is Saturday, Dec. 29, after which Harbor Artisans will close for the winter months and open again in May.
