BELFAST — "EZDUZ IT," an acrylic painting on canvas by local artist Susan Tobey White, is the featured art for this year's Belfast Harbor Fest. The 18" x 24" painting depicts an idyllic Maine coast harbor and is up for auction at the Evening by the Bay on Friday, Aug. 16, at 5:30 p.m. under the tent in Steamboat Landing.

White defines herself as artist and educator. As an artist she is best known for her colorful, energetic paintings of dancers that inspire smiles and laughter from the viewer. Scenes of impassioned dancers in crowded dance halls, swinging to their own rhythms, summon nostalgic times and practically dance right off the canvas. Her latest series, “Lobstering Women of Maine” can be seen at the Penobscot Marine Museum in Searsport through October 2019. White’s love of Maine and the area she lives is evident in her quieter paintings of landscapes, seascapes and paintings of people working and playing.

Attendees can find this artwork on Harbor Fest posters and t-shirts or can purchase the original at the Evening By the Bay live auction. Proceeds from the auction support the WCAP Kidney Dialysis Transportation Fund. Tickets for the Evening by the Bay can be purchased at belfastharborfest.com.
