In a familiar winter scene in Belfast at the turn of the last century, a two-horse open sleigh poses for the photographer at the intersection of Church Street and Northport Avenue. The two boys are standing at the top of Allyn Street, a popular street for sledding well into the 20th century. The houses in the background date from 1889 and 1905. Note both horses are wearing sleigh bells — it must have been a pleasant sound to hear them coming.
