Home Schooling Grows into a Business

One one of my home school courses this year was to explore primitive arts, where I learned to create things using naturally found materials. In this course I was planning on making some twig furniture but got side tracked and turned my attention to building an arbor out of Alder that I ended up selling to my friend's mom. Soon after that I received compliments and suggestions as to where to sell my arbors, and I've been busy making them ever since.

Making the arbors turned out to be only half of the work involved in starting a business. I have had a lot of help from the owners of Fernwood Nursery, from letting me display my arbors at their nursery to helping me figure out advertising and pricing. They encouraged me to make fliers and a webpage.
