Montville — Several area fire crews converged at a home adjacent to Clark's Corner Scrap on Route 3 Sunday evening, answering a possible structure fire call.

According to Montville Fire Chief John York, the homeowner heard a "pop" and smelled smoke. The homeowner then went down the road and called 911.

York said the fire was located in basement and crews put the flames down quickly. No injuries were reported, and according to the homeowner's Facebook post, "We all got out and we found our cat."

Crews from Liberty, Searsmont, Freedom, Morrill, Montville and Liberty Ambulance responded.

The Maine State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating.
