75th anniversary of D-Day

Honor Flight Maine hosts WWII Operation Gratitude June 6

Augusta — Honor Flight Maine has organized a special event to mark the 75th anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy Thursday, June 6, at 1 p.m. at Camp Chamberlain, Maine National Guard Joint Force Headquarters, 23 Blue Star Ave., Augusta.

WWI Operation Gratitude honors all World War II veterans. The public is welcome to attend.

Guest speakers are the Honor Flight Network founder, retired U.S. Air Force Capt. Earl Morse, and Capt. Jonathan D. Bratten, Maine National Guard's historian.
