Investors' group offers intro to technical analysis for financial markets Feb. 27

Feb 01, 2019

Belfast — Bruce Powers, CMT, will present an Introduction to Technical Analysis for financial markets Wednesday, Feb. 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Belfast Free Library, 106 High St. All are welcome to this free event, sponsored by the Maine Traders & Active Investors Group, a networking and educational group for Belfast and the surrounding area.

Powers' talk is based on his 25-plus years of experience in financial markets. A subject matter expert in applying technical analysis to live markets, he is a Chartered Market Technician (CMT), a professional designation for market technical analysis, and is a member of the CMT Association.

Technical analysis is a tool to engage financial markets in a well-thought-out and logical manner. It uses price charts to identify trends and patterns that can be used to improve timing and risk management. Employed extensively by active market participants, technical analysis and charting techniques help provide an edge when engaging financial markets.

A brief analysis of the current market using technical analysis will be included following the lecture, with discussions encouraged. If you are active in the financial markets, or would like to be, even a basic understanding of technical analysis can be a powerful tool.

Following Powers' talk, there will be some time for dialogue and discussion on interests and ideas for future events and get-togethers for this group.

RSVP is requested, either to, or via the group’s Meetup page:
