‘Island Zero’ premieres

Lincolnville-based Donkey Universe Films has announced that “Island Zero,” the horror movie written by Tess Gerritsen and filmed locally last year, will have its New England and Maine State premieres this month.

The New England premiere will be at the Boston International Film Festival Saturday, April 15. The screening will be at 9:30 p.m. at the historic Paramount Theatre. Director Josh Gerritsen, writer Tess Gerritsen, producer Mariah Klapatch and executive producer Jacob Gerritsen will all be in attendance. For more information on the festival, visit

The Maine premiere is set for Saturday, April 29, during the Emerge Film Festival. The screening is 4 p.m. at Auburn’s Community Little Theatre. Former Camden-Rockport Middle School pals Josh Gerritsen and Mariah Klapatch will be in attendance, as will a number of cast and crewmembers; and Klapatch will participate in a panel about Women in Horror, moderated by Kate Kaminski.
