Rockland — The Islesboro Central School sailing team earned first place among 12 teams in the annual "Breakwater Blast" Regatta on Sunday May 5.

Sailing in light conditions for The Apprenticeshop-hosted event, the islanders used consistent starts and superior boat speed to outclass the rest of the fleet, said Charles Hamm, principal at the school.

Lake Lindelof and Pia Gibson sailed in the “A” division, while Jett Lindelof and Julian Kelly sailed in the “B" division.
