First of all I would like to send out my deepest condolences to the Nickerson family, on the recent death of Donald Nickerson Jr. He was way too young. I carried his boys on my bus. Don would walk them to the bus, so I would see and speak to him several times a week. To the Nickerson family, I am so sorry for your loss. His folks, Donna and Donald Sr., have always lived in Jackson. You are all in my thoughts.

I hope everyone had a safe and Merry Christmas. I don’t have very much news to share about the holiday celebrations. Town folks don’t seem to let me know about news like they used to. All I seem to have for news is about my family. I don’t know, maybe I should just give it up. I hear from so many that they really enjoy reading the column. Please let me know what you would like out of the column.

Christmas Eve

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve get-together at AJ and Becca’s. Most of the family was there including: AJ, Becca, Mady, Hannah, Johnny, Debbie, Michelle, Ella, LeeAnn, Eric, Chris, Lisa, Derek and myself. Becca had a table full of munchies as always. We had a lot of fun. The kids opened some of their gifts. We then did a Yankee swap. We took a bunch of pictures, and a four-generation picture that I have been wanting. Brandi, Dave and Scout weren’t able to make the get-together. We sure did miss you guys.

Christmas Day

Christmas morning, Lisa, Chris and I took off for LeeAnn and Eric’s for breakfast and the tree. Gee, was it ever snowing. Thank goodness we didn’t have much farther to travel. The visibility was horrible, it was snowing so hard. Lisa had to keep stopping and clearing off the windshield so we could see where we were going. In the afternoon, LeeAnn and Eric went to his folks’ to celebrate the holiday with his family. LeeAnn and Chris both heard from Grammie and Gramp Larrabee who are in Florida.

Thank you

I want to thank all of those folks who sent cards to me. I apologize if I missed sending a card to anyone. I especially love the picture cards of people’s families. Thank you also to my family for all of my gifts. I told you all that I didn’t need presents that I just wanted to be with you all. I received all different things such as: a Boston Red Sox fleece blanket, a book about Joe Biden, beautiful pictures of my great-granddaughters, a comforter pad for my bed, coffee pods for my Keurig. I hope I didn’t forget anything. Again, thank you so much, I love you all.

Dinner guest

LeeAnn and Eric had a dinner guest the other night. Amanda Hall is home for the holidays from Texas. She now lives there and has a great job and home.

Other Christmas notes

Flint and the boys came to visit Polly and Diane on Christmas. Chase and Allyn went to Aunt Mary’s on Christmas Eve. Christmas morning Papa went to Chase’s house for the gifts. Mémère and Pépère were down from Wallagrass for a visit. Dee, Adam and Cousin Parker drove up on Christmas night.

Marlene and Clifford were not able to make it to Rochelle’s for the holiday because of the snowstorm. They ended up spending the day together.

Doris Dodge chose to stay home, despite all kinds of invitations that she had.

Cheryl and Harold went down the road a bit and spent the day at Eddie and Nichi’s.

I hope everyone has a safe and a happy New Year’s Eve. Cheers to a safe and prosperous New Year.
