Jail time for man who injured deputy

A Swanville man who injured a deputy trying to arrest him has been sentenced to 45 days in jail.

Christopher Webber, 34, was found guilty in a Waldo County court of refusing to submit to arrest or detention, physical force, in relation to an incident Nov. 7, 2016, but several other charges were dropped, according to court records. His sentence was stayed until April 13.

Two sheriff's deputies attempted to arrest Webber in November for violating a protection order, but he resisted and was eventually subdued with a Taser. One deputy sustained minor injures as a result of the arrest, according to police.

Webber originally was charged with violating a protection order, domestic violence terrorizing, stalking, resisting arrest and assault.
