SWANVILLE — Potter Jody Johnstone holds her Spring Kiln Opening Show and Sale on Saturday, June 22, and Sunday, June 23, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at her 135 Webster Rd. studio. Johnstone apprenticed in Bizen, Japan in 1994 and 1995 and has been woodfiring her Japanese-style anagama kiln since 1997. The kiln is fired twice a year by a crew of six who work in shifts to keep the kiln stoked with wood for a total of eight days.

On display will be a large selection of work from the recent firing, including tableware ranging from bowls, cups and plates, to pitchers and teapots and a wide selection of flower vases and jars. Kiln tours and refreshments. For directions or more information, visit jodyjohnstonepottery.com or call 338-5314.
